Our Story

The rush of discovery and accomplishment I felt from my first foray into jewelry making is as fresh in my mind now as it was over a decade ago when, while simply fiddling around in the backroom of my wife’s family jewelry store, I created an 18K yellow link bracelet from scratch. Here was something beautiful, made with my own hands, and made almost without conscious effort on my part. That first piece came out so nice it even impressed my parents-in-law, veterans of the business.

It was at that point that I knew what I wanted in life. I studied at the Gemological Institute of America, and graduated with degrees in Gemology, Diamonds, and Colored Stones. I then spent two years as head gemologist on staff at Nathan Allen Jewelers. It was there that I saw the demand for custom made jewelry — and the appeal of working on such pieces from a design and craftsmanship standpoint.

In 2002 my wife and I opened Beach City Jewelers specifically to focus on the custom made jewelry market. But unlike the big stores, we could afford to offer our pieces for less. By doing all of our work in house, we soon developed a rapport with our customers that simply does not exist in larger operations. I’m living my dream, and I’m helping others live theirs as well with each piece I make.
